Rob Searing grew up in the 80's being more of a video game junkie than a board gamer. He played all the typical games (Monopoly, Life, etc)-his favorite being Clue. It wasn't until his oldest son, Saige, turned 13 that he started researching games that he could play with him. He remembered seeing unique games in various book stores in the area and decided to try Settlers Of Catan - the card game. It became a huge hit between the two of them. Friends suggested games like Munchkin and Killer Bunnies. Not really being a big fan of either, he took a trip to his FLGS and asked for recommendations. Ticket to Ride and Dominion were suggested. Ticket to ride was fun, but his family took to Dominion rather quick. Magic was a game he played in the past, and this was a similar concept - but much more fun.

It was then that he decided to do research on games and came across The Dice Tower. Tom's reviews played a major role in Rob's decision making process. He enjoyed the site so much that he asked how he could get involved and help. He was brought on board to help run contests and assist with the web site.

Rob graduated summa cum laude (obtaining a 4.0) from Unniversity of Missouri with a degree in Information Technology. He lives in the Kansas City area and lives with his loving wife and six children (Saige, Ashton, Jadyn, Nadia, Anya and Ian). He enjoys spending time with his family, and playing WOW. The favorite games of the family's right now are Thunderstone and Defenders of the Realm.
