Dice Tower Network Podcast: Every Night is Game Night

Every Night is Game Night is a weekly, 30-45 minute podcast about strategy and thematic games, with a special emphasis on cooperative and solo play. Every week, Anthony and Jason talk about the games they love - Anthony covers heavy strategy and Euro games, while Jason brings his passion for games with lots of theme and narrative. We do regular game reviews and frequently discuss a variety of topics in the board gaming world, ranging from serious to silly. We also bring you Kickstarter previews, as well as long form interviews with many of the most noteworthy names in the industry, including Matt Leacock, Ryan Laukat, Ignacy Trzewiczek, Scott Almes, Isaac Childres, and more!

We have more game reviews this week, as well as something of a follow-up on last week's conversation about the psychology of cheating in board games. We welcome Anthony back to the show to discuss Aerion, the latest in the Oniverse series (3:55), then Jason talks about a unique, push-your-luck take on deckbuilding, Heroes of Tenefyr (14:01).

Shout out to Marcus Brissman over in the Sporadically Board Facebook Group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/510403706050913/ - who put up an excellent, interesting thread on cheating in board games a few weeks ago. In response, Jason reached out to a blogger on BGG who wrote about cheating in board games a few years ago, Dr. Corey Butler, professor of social psychology at Southwest Minnesota State University.

Jason is moving this month, so we're slowing down the content train just a bit this week. Jason did two guest spots on other podcasts, which you may have already heard. If you have, then please enjoy some other podcasts and come back next week for all new stuff. If you haven't heard, then please enjoy some snippets from other shows that you should be listening to!

Although the ENGN crew won't make it to the big show in Ohio this year, we're still interested in all of the new games that will be demoed and played this year. First we review the games we previewed last year, letting you know if they ended up worth checking out (hint: one of us has a great record, and one falls on his face). After that, we chat about a bunch of games we are really looking forward to, including Jason's usual gaggle of adventure games and Anthony's pile of roll 'n' writes. If you plan to attend origins, let us know what you played and what you liked!
