Last week with Board Boy Josh and Board Boy Rob, we talked about expansions. But, we didn't hit one particular point, how we've been cooling on them. We'll explain a few of the good ones, but a few of the misses as well. And then Wendy educates us on buttercream frosting, and finally, we review a big new game about big old shoulders: City of the Big Shoulders by Parallel Games!
Top 5 Expansions, a list we were a little trepidatious to make. Perhaps out tastes would be too similar, so, we have some guests to offer a unique perespective, Josh and Rob from The Board Boys podcast. They're one of our favorite podcasts to listen to, and so we're happy that they're on the show with us!
Why bother reviewing such a small little game as PUSH, by Ravensberger? Some small games feature a lot of good decisions behind them, and that's what PUSH does. Check out what we have to say about that, as well as calling kids "smart" versus other compliments. Also, I guess Board Game Geek is a thing, so let's talk about its rating system!
How does one of your favorite games from two years ago stack up? Chris reflects on Broom Service, and Wendy on Dead of Winter. These are two games which were favorites, but are they still? One yes, one no. Some other games and Top 5 lists are looked at again from two years ago, as well as reflecting on the growth we've had since then. Hope you enjoy!
Crusaders primary form of conquest came from playing mancala more efficiently than the other crusader clans. That's possibly not how history went, but you might think so given our review this week of Seth Jaffee's game Crusaders: Thy Will Be Done. We also discuss Crossovers both in the comic book world and on the game table. And of course, we run through the summer movies we watched in 2019. Enjoy! Or Else!
It's time to catch up again with some ketchup! A monthly ketchup, that is. We're here to talk about the games we played, but also the eight Harry Potter films that Wendy plowed through in a week. There's a lot to catch up on, so, enjoy!
Hadara is an ancient word meaning "Card Drafting with a Unique Twist." Probably. Today we review a new card based civilization game by Z-Man games, along with talking about gaming with a four year-old, and a little psychology of intuition and irrationality. Hope you all enjoy.
Often, you don't have time to pull out one of your biggest games off the shelf and settle in for three hours of gaming. But sometimes, you just really want to crank out one of those beasts. Whether you're taking a weekend to play it, staying up too late, or making it an event like at a convention, sometimes you want those deep long games. So, we'll go over our collective Top 10 Long Games. Settle in, and enjoy!
July was a busy, busy month for us folks here, as we were out of town more often than usual. However, we got some really solid gaming in, so check out our monthly ketchup!
